Alexandra has never spoken about the woman in the shadows of her life.
Until now.

Everything is changing for Alex. She's always been confident that she's one step ahead of everyone else, until now.

Diana is not the boss Alex expected her to be, pressing Alex to be a team player. A new employee makes that more difficult than ever. Then, when Alex crosses a line asking a client for a personal favor, Diana tightens the screws.

Settling into her new apartment is also far from what she expected. Alex feels smothered by Eileen and threatened by Ned's taunting implication that he knows she's not what she seems.
