The Works of Thomas Carlyle

Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881) was one of the most influential authors of the nineteenth century. His introduction of German literature and philosophy into Victorian society profoundly influenced later ideas. Volume 21 of this 1896 edition of his works contains the first volume of his translations of German romances.
