Early in the 20th century control over Tibet was contested by China, Russia and Britain. The imperial powers employed local staff to assist in their dealings with the Tibetans. This is the autobiography of three Tibetans: Phun-stogs Lung-rtogs, sKar-ma Sum-dhon Paul, and Ts'an-chich Chen.
