For Lisa, a promise made is a vow given, and should never be broken. Her mother and grandmother uses this against her. They lure Lisa into making a promise to them. They will help her boyfriend, only if she keeps the vow that she was bribed to make. By keeping her promise, Lisa journeys take her into and through Hell itself.
