Tra cielo e inferno: la tentazione carnale nella letteratura europea "fin de siécle"

Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Literature - Comparative Literature, grade: 15, University of Chieti-Pescara, language: Italian, abstract: The essay in question proposes to examine some of the most significant figures of priests described in nineteenth-century and twentieth-century literary works, and in particular those that yield to the carnal temptation. Through a comparative reading of the works of writers such as Tolstoy, Flaubert, D'Annunzio and Grazia Deledda (just to mention the main ones), the volume tries to outline the main characteristics of these clergymen, examining the literary influences - even the reciprocal ones - available in each of the texts studied.
