Published in 1869, this joint travel diary gives an account of Petherick's (1813-82) journey to Gondokoro, Sudan, on a mission for the National Geographical Society. Volume 2 contains letters and official documents that clarify the controversy in which Petherick was falsely accused of taking part in the slave trade.
