Valentine and the Mobsters

Valentine's day starts in a prison cell, from there it's all downhill. Kidnapped children, torture, death threats and random violence fill up the rest of his day. He is a long way from his medieval city, from the streets he walked with sword and musket. Now it's all spaceships, blasters and some wee beasties called nanobots.
But he's a copper and he is learning about these things called clues. Now if he could just stop hitting people.
Valentine's a thug, but he's our thug.
