Über Vanishing Anger
Born against the backdrop of the majestic Cascade Mountains in Washington State, Gerald A. Moriarty wrote his Western Vanishing Anger to express “my love for the mountains and my fascination for those during the mid-1800s who were mountain men.”
Though the author’s primary interest is in following the adventures of the Wild West’s mountain men, he heads off in a totally new direction, writing his Western tales. Moriarty has experienced the bite of gold fever himself, and his next two books will express that side of his life.
In this novel, an angry man tired of all the fighting needed to defend himself back home on the docks, heads West seeking a new life. His transformation from an angry man to one who finds peace takes place as he finds adventure and self-reliance on his travels.
The former longshoreman becomes a gold prospector and a frontiersman who meets up with thieves and scammers.
Now retired, Gerald A. Moriarty was born and raised on a farm outside the small town of Enumclaw, Washington. “The absolute beauty of all the surrounding mountains” inspired him to both write and to create beadwork jewelry that he sells at bazaars.
