Orlando's father, Sir Thomas, arranges for him to marry a wealthy heiress, Celinda, in order to secure his family's financial future. Monimia, devastated by Orlando's betrayal, takes her own life. The play explores themes of love, social class, and the destructive consequences of societal norms.
