Off I went, flying in the wind. I heard Mom and Dad cheering me on. “Go, Emily, go!” The other ten girls were way behind me, and I was so happy. The more I ran, the faster I ran.
I said, “Yes, yes,” breathing heavily as I ran. Suddenly, I heard Coach Ryan blow the whistle, telling us girls to quickly get off the field. I kept running, though I noticed the other girls had stopped.
