Über A phage lysate based therapeutic vaccine for bovine Brucellosis

We have developed a new immunotherapy for bovine Brucellosis, a globally important zoonotic disease that causes Rs. 20,000 Crore annual losses in India alone. Available treatment is not effective or economic and some vaccines like S-19 have failed to control it in many countries. Our new bacteriophage lysate based immunotherapy could cure bovine Brucellosis in adult cows in 90 days with one single injection of lysate. This is a major breakthrough and the principle is applicable to numerous bacterial diseases of animals and humans. We have also developed a new non¿invasive method for monitoring and assessment of efficacy of new antimicrobial therapies of infectious diseases based on the molecular detection of pathogen ¿ specific biomarker in the blood as an indication of presence of live pathogen in the body. The elimination of the pathogen from the body leading to cure of the disease following treatment can be ascertained accurately and efficacy of the treatment can be established quickly, easily and in real time by our new method. It can be of great help in developing new antimicrobial treatments easily, economically and rapidly, to fight the pandemic of antimicrobial resistance.
