Über Antimicrobial Activity of Silver Nanoparticles Synthesized by Plant
Green nanotechnology is an emerging field. Nanotechnology deals with the particles having a size of 1 to 100 nanometers. These nanoparticles can easily be prepared by different physical, chemical and biological methods. The biological method is a burning method for preparation of these particles, because biological method is very easy than that of other methods, less time consuming and environmental friendly. This biological method was done by using leaf and stem extracts of medicinal plant (Adiantum) and silver nitrate (AgNO3). The change of color from colorless to reddish brown is an initial indication of formation of nanoparticles. Further confirmation was done by UV-Vis spectrometer. X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy was used to analyse the grain size and structure of silver nanoparticles. In XRD spectrum, number of different peaks were observed. The average size of silver nanoparticles were 17 and 14 nanometers. FTIR spectra indicated that all the transmission peaks are related to functional groups present in silver nanoparticles and are consistent with the reported values.
