Extra Alveolar Anchorage

Anchorage was one of the most challenging aspects of orthodontic treatment. Many trials have been made to obtain absolute anchorage without having any undesirable effects. The extra alveolar skeletal anchorage is one of the ways to obtain absolute anchorage using mini screws in the extra radicular site. This review provides an update on the history, evolution, biological background, and different types of bone screws with clinical tips.
