Fight for Unity through Church Leadership Structures in Africa

This book reveals the effect of leadership structures on church unity. For a twenty-first century¿s generation, it sounds a little bit contradictory to hear the message of unity while seeing Christian churches in Africa struggling with issues of division within themselves. This book intends to bring Church leaders to be sensitive on the issues of church leadership structures which may provoke a split when people feel themselves threatened in their liberty of expression. Its purpose is to help them set up good strategies of preserving and maintaining the unity of the Church so as to build a wide and strong African Christianity. The fight for unity has its favorite ground at the local church level. Therefore, African Christianity will be able to play its role as a center of Christianity in the world when internal divisions will be out of date and no longer viewed as a scandal for Christianity. Unity in African Christianity today implies that the Christian churches should reflect their innermost character: unity! In so doing, they will challenge the global Christianity in turning its history of divisions into history of unity for the next centuries.
