Über Gender Diversity in Manufacturing Industry

This study endeavors to compare various existing parameters between two manufacturing companies, namely, NALCO and Vedanta, from public and private sector respectively. The study uses primary data, the responses collected from the women employees at NALCO and Vedanta for analyzing the three dimensions namely, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) of gender diversity. The questionnaire to collect the data were designed with expert consultation and administered to 600 personnel of both the companies out of which 505 were qualified to be usable with a response rate of 91.6%.In line with four objectives there were thirteen hypothesis tested, using parametric techniques broadly in two directions; (1) whether there are similarity/dissimilarity of various dimensions of gender diversity across the two mining and manufacturing companies; (2) how is the relationship between three dimensions of gender diversity namely diversity, equity and inclusion, in intra and intercompany scenario. The analysis has resulted in developing the Gender Diversity Model (DEI index).
