The Chinese economy has been undergoing significant structural changes and showing extraordinary expansion through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the last four decades; which has indiscriminately affected the absolute majority of countries, especially since the 2000s. Concomitantly, the Brazilian economy has been characterized by two phenomena of the greatest relevance: 1) the decrease in its manufacturing industry compared to GDP and 2) the reprimarization of the national export agenda. Given this situation, this book presents the following question: are Chinese FDIs carried out in Brazil after the year 2000 responsible for the structural change manifested by the relative loss of the manufacturing industry and in the Brazilian foreign trade pattern expressed by its reprimarization? To this end, we seek to analyze the impacts that Chinese trade flows and IEDs have had on the national productive sector, specifically, on its manufacturing industry and on the pattern of foreign trade.

Many chronic non-communicable diseases have been extensively studied today, among which cardiovascular diseases stand out, since they are accompanied by high rates of hospital admissions, physical disabilities and even deaths. This group of diseases includes hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart failure, acute myocardial infarction and peripheral vascular disease, which includes strokes and aneurysms. Although research is being carried out to reduce their incidence, morbidity and mortality, and although there are now modern diagnostic techniques and treatments for them, they still represent a major challenge for public health worldwide. For this reason, we believe that assessing the population's level of knowledge on this subject is important in order to preventively minimize its serious consequences. In addition, we believe that it is also the role of universities to make a scientific and extensionist contribution so that educational actions and effective, low-cost interventions can be developed, favoring the preventive nature of this and many other diseases.

Over the decades, China has become Africa's most important economic partner. Not only has Sino-African trade increased by a factor of 20, but Chinese investment has also increased many times over. China's involvement in Africa is therefore much greater and more diverse than previous studies suggested. More than 10,000 Chinese companies are active on the continent. This presence has made a major contribution to the dynamism of the African economy, with job creation and the transfer of knowledge and technology. Looking beyond preconceptions, the study sheds new light on the prospects for the China-Africa partnership, while taking the opposite view of some of the rough estimates that have hitherto been the benchmark in many official and economic circles. Using a case study approach, this study looks at the issues and challenges facing Chinese companies setting up in Africa and those planning to do so.

With the aim of contributing to the teaching of physics in secondary schools, we present a proposal for teaching physics by investigation through an Investigative Teaching Sequence, which was planned and guided by various researchers in the field and following the guidelines of the PCNs. The SEI developed aims to develop activities that are essential to the learning process. Initially, an Investigative Activity is described, explaining the points necessary for it to be developed. Next, all the activities that can make up an Investigative Teaching Sequence are presented, along with the SEI developed in this work. Based on these foundations, the reality in which the high school students participating in this research find themselves is analyzed through the Prova Brasil and by analyzing data collected from a diagnostic assessment carried out. After development, we discuss the results of adapting the methodology applied to conclude that the Investigative Teaching Sequence applied had positive results in terms of the construction of scientific knowledge.

Webquest is a research methodology designed to utilise the Internet in education, a resource used in the research. It comes from the web itself, and thus comprises a series of didactic learning activities that take advantage of the immense wealth of information in the virtual world to generate new knowledge. It was proposed in 1995 by Professor Bernie Dodge, from the University of San Diego, with the participation of his collaborator Tom March. It is an investigation of information in which students interact with the knowledge they have learnt in the classroom and apply it in the WQ. The data can optionally be captured in supplements, video conferences, chats, forums, e-mails and the use of other resources for the production of collaborative writing, such as wiki, blogs etc. not only from the web, but it can also be the information passed on in class. Etymologically, web/quest means a network of hyperlinks/questions, search or research. With the use of the internet in mind, WQ was created to transform and optimise Portuguese language teaching in schools, in order to make learning interactive.

The aim of the work was to study the Neves dam, the geological and geotechnical characterization of the surrounding area and its importance. This study showed clear evidence of the dam's ageing over time. We also highlight the great role that this infrastructure plays in the municipality of Humpata, as it is the main source of water for irrigating the various agricultural farms, as well as for recharging the aquifers of the Chela plateau and not forgetting the supply of water to the population.

There is a considerable risk of developing depression during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Pharmacological treatment of depression in pregnant women is advised in several cases, and the drugs of choice are serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), such as fluoxetine. Considering that serotonin modulates various processes during the development of the organism, the potential effects of perinatal exposure to SSRIs on neurodevelopment are being investigated. In rats, exposure to fluoxetine during the perinatal period (pregnancy and lactation) decreased decision-making capacity, but did not induce anhedonia, in adolescent males and females. In response to a stressor, there was no difference in corticosterone secretion, but adolescent males had reduced activation of the basolateral amygdala, and in adulthood this reduction occurred in the medial amygdala. This study indicates that perinatal fluoxetine exposure induces neurofunctional alterations that may be dependent on gender and age, highlighting the importance of the perinatal environment as a determinant of neurofunctional alterations that continue into adulthood.

The year 2023 was the warmest year in history since records have been kept, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service. The global average temperature was 1.48 °C. This increase was due to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation that raised ocean and atmospheric temperatures. The year 2023 was marked by extreme heat waves, droughts, fires, floods and storms. This research performed a characterization of the global average temperature change variable, a normality test was applied to the data through the Shapiro Wilk analysis, it was found that the global average temperature change deviates from the average, the future projection through the linear regression forecast model, year by year since 2024 indicates that it will increase until 2030, resulting in the year 2026 the temperature of the planet will be 1.5°C; This will seriously affect the health of some 350 million inhabitants who will be left without access to drinking water, exposed to extreme heat or freezing temperatures, and will be at risk of death.

This research aims to discuss the inclusion of environmental education in history teaching based on the history of the first ecological movement in Maranhão, the São Luís Island Defense Committee. This movement emerged in 1980 and campaigned against the installation of a branch of ALCOA (Aluminium Company of American), considered the most powerful transnational in the alumina and primary aluminum manufacturing sector. Initially, the foundations of the ecological issue and its consequences were discussed, as well as the proposition of environmental education. Bibliographical research was the methodology used to analyse the emergence of new social movements in Brazil during Redemocratization, including the ecological movement. Subsequently, we analyzed sources from the written press, specifically reports from the "Jornal Pequeno", in order to construct the Committee's trajectory between 1980 and 1984. The results of the research made it possible to write suggestions for using the theme in the classroom, allowing environmental education to be included in the history curriculum.

Not all research in the field of organizational science is subject to contextualization in the same way, because its objects are more or less able to stand on their own, and its observations are more or less easy to explain.A researcher's real duty is to provide clear, precise explanations of the concepts and notions that are most important, if not indispensable, to understanding a discipline. The potential reader will thus be moulded, impregnated and able to continue reading, which may be aimed at indoctrination or self-training.In producing this second edition, we wanted to reinforce a new direction in management education, primarily at post-secondary and post-graduate levels. The in-depth writing of this elementary management dictionary is a response to the difficulties experienced by learners at the aforementioned levels of study in appropriating managerial jargon.

This book analyses the new public policy for the adequate resolution of disputes, with the aim of analysing the mechanisms contained in the 2015 Code of Civil Procedure and in Resolution 125/2010 of the National Council of Justice. Starting from the crisis of the Judiciary, conciliation and mediation were inserted into the jurisdiction as the basis for transformative principles that seek the peaceful resolution of conflicts, thus fulfilling the goal of the National Council of Justice, which is to resolve conflicts effectively and more quickly. The study looks at self-compositional procedures for resolving conflicts, their principles, techniques and characteristics, as well as analysing the profile and posture of judicial assistants, lawyers and the judiciary as a whole in the face of this new perspective, ending with an analysis of the work carried out in CEJUSCs and what the contributions of self-compositional methods are in encouraging solutions through dialogue, enabling them to be used effectively in the legal context.

This theoretical, bibliographical and philosophical work seeks to think about modern technology from a philosophical perspective, in terms of its origins, meanings and essence. Starting from the principle of thought of the philosophers of Ancient Greece, mainly Socrates and Plato, the dissertation seeks to think of a new understanding of modern technology, in which it can be understood from the principle of paideia, the Greek formative ideal. To this end, in the first chapter, I describe and reflect on the formative and political ideal in Ancient Greece, seeking to find principles, germs for the construction of a thought for modernity. In the second and concluding chapter, I study modernity and the confusion that modern knowledge reform makes between science and technology, basing the former on the latter. I describe and think about the Greek origins of the issue, the scientific revolution and the political and economic revolutions of the 18th century, to then arrive at the philosophy of contemporary technology, examining the main perspectives and seeking to initiate and structure the construction of a perspective that has Greek thought and paideia as its model, principle and seed.

The research studies the fundamental right to privacy in Internet Social Networks, and is linked to the Human Rights, International Relations and Equity research line of the Unijuí Master's in Human Rights. It represents these premises in the investigation through the virtual context (internet) of which Internet Social Networks are a part. This is a de-territorialised space in which the events witnessed reach a planetary scale. So although the research focuses on the Brazilian reality, it is not exempt from bringing in this contextualisation throughout the discussions, especially when presenting the reality of the internet and its evolution. With regard to human rights, the debate is centred on the right to privacy. The research is based on the assumption that in the digital society, the virtual environment, rapid communication, the ease of exchanging information and the connected individual are a reality, which results in changes in social habits and behaviour, revealing a worrying aspect: the violation of privacy, a fundamental right that deserves essential protection, whether through a theoretical approach or a legislative approach.

In order to study current Angolan foreign policy strategies, considering the 41 years since its independence, the study presents two models to analyze the two forms of Angolan international insertion. The first applies to the period from 1975 to 1991 and the second from 1992 to 2016. It questions how Angola formulated its strategic interests over these periods and what the reflexes of the strategies conducted were on its foreign and domestic policy. Although most studies on Angolan foreign policy take a more historical perspective, the study accepts this historical premise and argues that the relations built with the great powers were a fundamental factor in its proactive external action in African regional affairs and a prominent actor in international relations in general.

This book is a response to the scarcity of literature on the subject in Angola, on the one hand, and on the other, a modest contribution to understanding the socialisation of children in early childhood, using play and games. As such, it represents a valuable tool in the hands of education specialists and early childhood educators in general, and in particular the reader interested in a better future, against the backdrop of early childhood education. This book demonstrates the infinite possibilities that the educator has when making use of the child's socio-cultural reality, in order to enhance the different modes of interaction that they establish in their daily lives and develop them as a didactic resource at the service of strengthening the social competences necessary for the child's social integration at this stage of life. In this book we try to bring up issues that will allow us to understand, for example, the nuances of a hypermature child, the well-behaved child and also the child who doesn't play. We reinforce the idea that games and playful activities are vital in the harmonious development of children.

This work is the result of studies for TDAUP - Diploma Work in Architecture, Urbanism and Landscaping from the Architecture and Urbanism course at UNIVAG in 2017. Its aim is to create a proposal for an architectural project aimed at the elderly in the city centre of Cuiabá. Through research that explores the growth rates of this population and, above all, exposes the city's lack of spaces that solve and contribute to improving the quality of life of the elderly community, in various dimensions of life, including: environmental, social interaction and accessibility. The study analyses existing models of long-term housing in the city, looking at the treatment methods implemented, taking into account the positive aspects on which the project was based, as well as the negative aspects refuted in the proposal. The methodology used to design the project sought to integrate the elderly into society by including spaces that were attractive to the public. To this end, the blocks were modelled in the vernacular style of Cuiabá, recreating the environments in which the elderly spent a large part of their lives.

International maritime transportation is one of the pillars on which the process of economic and commercial globalization is based. From this sector have emerged the main technological and organizational changes that led to the development of intermodalism and transport chains without cargo breakage. At the same time, with economic liberalization and increasing deregulation in the transportation sector, shipping lines and their multimodal divisions have tended to group together in strategic alliances to expand their coverage, reduce costs and offer a wider range of services in order to face the strong global competition for the transportation and distribution of goods. This process is resulting in a new structure for shipping and ports.

After the industrial revolution, a new capitalist world emerged in the face of old-fashioned forms of production. With the passing of time and the spread of globalisation, a very strong business area emerged whose potential and importance many had not yet imagined it would have for modern organisations: Human Resources. The question arises as to what human resources mean. It is nothing more than all the employees that make up an organisation, but it can also refer to a specific department that is responsible for selecting, hiring, training, monitoring the activities carried out and remunerating workers.
