The Netherlands Interuniversity Demographic Institute (N.I.D.I.- established in 1970 - is mainly concerned with research into the factors which, either directly or indirectly, influence demographic development in the Netherlands.

(In German: Betriebswirtschaftslehre.) To avoid duplication a number of subjects such as the theory of market structures and descriptive data concerning changes in the patterns of consumer expenditures and distribution have been omitted.

The original papers which appear in this volume were initially presented in a series of sessions of the Ad Hoc Group on Alienation Theory and Research at the 1974 World Congress of Sociology in Toronto, Canada.

This evaluation approach is also significant in determining either the effectiveness of or the opportunities to improve corporate training. In this book the authors provide the commercial training industry with a step-by-step approach to use when evaluating training programs. The Training Evaluation Process can be applied generically to evaluate training programs across all corporate environments.

The subject index was not contained in the Russian original and the authors' index represents an extension of the original list of references. The transliteration problem has been overcome by printing the names of Russian authors and journals also in Russian type.

Ancient Mechanics => GALILEO => HUYGENS In Science Awakening I (Dutch edition 1950, first Eng1ish edition 1954, second 1961, first German edition 1956, second 1965) I have followed the first 1ine, giving an outline of the development of Mathematics in Egypt, Babylonia, and Greece. Volume II, dealing with Egyptian and Baby1onian Astronomy first appeared in German under the title 'Die Anfänge der Astronomie' (Noordhoff, Groningen 1965 and Birkhäu­ ser, Basel 1968). The volume was written in collaboration with PETER HUBER (Swiss Federal School of Technology, Zürich). HUBER has written considerable parts of Chap­ ters 3 and 4, in particular all transcriptions of cuneiform texts in these chapters. I also had much help from ERNST WEIDNER (Graz), MARTIN VERMASEREN (Amsterdam), JOSEF JANSEN (Leiden) and MANU LEUMANN (Zürich).
