Über JEEWANU: A biomimetic photoautotrophic protocell-like assembly
In the post genomic era development of contemporary approaches in systems biology and synthetic biology have led to integrative biological investigations involving ¿bottom-up approaches. Nonlinear synergistic collaborative processes in the laboratory simulated atmosphere have given a new understanding to systems structure and systems dynamics. Irradiated sterilized aqueous mixture of some inorganic and organic substances shows photochemical formation of biomimetic protocell-like photoautotrophic supramolecular assemblies, ¿Jeewanü reported by Prof. Krishna Bahadur and Mrs. S. Ranganayaki (India). In the possible prebiotic atmosphere photo synergistic collaboration of nonlinear processes at mesoscopic level may have given rise to self- assembly of molecules and emergence of biomimetic hybrid supramolecular energy transducing assemblies similar to Jeewanu. The flow of information and its complexity in biological systems can be traced to functional properties of molecules. Systems biology approach involving tools of synthetic biology provides a significant mechanism to understand origin and evolution of life on the earth and elsewhere as well as artificial photosynthesis research.
