Life was hard for many who ventured out to these Colonies - even for an affluent English woman and her three daughters, Betty, Diana and Barbara. In the early 1900's, countless families ventured out to the colonies, pioneering their way thousands of miles to other continents and the dawning of a new life.
Their lives stretched over a number of continents and places, from India to Ceylon, to Hong Kong, Nyasaland to Kenya and Rhodesia. They encountered many trials but remained defiant and positive through their tribulations.
The sequel to this book, THE LIFE OF A FAMILY IN RHODESIA and ZIMBABWE 1950'S TO 2003, portrays Diana's life after her marriage, and that of her daughters, primarily her youngest daughter, Rebecca. Life then was oh so different from today.
