»Human Dignity as >Topos< in International Law: an Inquiry into Legal Argumentation at Supranational Level from a Rhetorical-Empirical Perspective«: This book argues that human dignity can be seen and evaluated as a rhetorical >topos< in international legal practice. The understanding of human dignity as a >topos< reveals other dimensions of its use in the argumentation process, which are relevant for determining its content within the legal discourse. It is claimed that human dignity by itself is perfectly able to normatively justify and shape the actions of the international community.
