Metrical Organization of Beowulf

Providing an account of the Old English "Beowulf" from a sychronic perspective and drawing on recent developments in prosodic phonology, this work examines the paradigmatics and syntagmatics of the hierarchically integrated metrical units in the underlying configurations and surface manifestations.
