Nguni cattle - an African breed

The origins of the Nguni breed of cattle is discussed, its characteristics are described with the objective of making information available to cattle farmers, researchers and interested parties so that the breed can be utilized effectively, particularly in sub-tropical environments where the humidity is relatively high but the rainfall is erratic and the environment can be harsh. The breed is able to survive in such climates, particularly where ticks and tick-borne diseases are rampant.
