Oral Health for Hearing-Impaired Children and Their Caregivers

Oral health is an important aspect of overall health for all children and is particularly important for children with hearing impairment. Children with hearing impairment have marked oral and maxillofacial pathologies, which may be due to their actual disability or for other medical, financial, or social reasons. Community health nurses have an important role in promoting oral health by providing children, young people, and families with information and support to make healthier oral health choices.
