ORBITO MAXILLARY MUCORMYCOSIS

Recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of mucormycosis, including early diagnosis, combination therapy, new antifungal agents, immunotherapy and surgical advances offer new hope for improved outcomes in patients with this serious fungal infection. Despite these advances, mucormycosis remains a serious and potentially life-threatening infection, particularly in patients with underlying medical conditions. Early recognition of risk factors, rapid diagnosis and timely initiation of appropriate therapy are critical for improving outcomes in patients with mucormycosis.
