Protected areas remain the most important approach for maintaining and enhancing the conservation of biological diversity and ecosystem services. Despite considerable progress made to meet Aichi Target 11, the world¿s biodiversity continues to decline. It is the time to shift our focus of protected area targets from quantity to quality.
