Über Reconceptualizing Nationhood in Kenya
The concept of the Citizen or what is commonly referred to in Kenya as "Wanjiku" reverberates across the architecture of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and various states or nations including Nigeria, United States, Tanzania and Ghana. Despite being a fundamental pillar of governance, constitutional agitation and political processes, the term "Citizen (Wanjiku)" has often been misused. This book retraces the history, contextualizes and problematizes the emerging nuances and provides a liberal conceptual understanding of the nuances around the concept of 'citizenship' from a Kenyan perspective.
