Song Exchange in Roman Pastoral

The term 'pastoral' designates a genre of European post-classical poetry which is strongly influenced by Vergil's Eclogues. This study discusses 'generic self-consciousness' and 'generic interaction' as motifs in the amoebaean eclogues of Roman pastorals.
