Über The Role of Saliva in maintaining Oral Health in Children
Oral cavity is a moist environment; a film of fluid called saliva constantly coats its inner surfaces and occupies the space between the lining oral mucosa and teeth. Saliva reflects the physiological state of body including emotional, endocrinal, nutritional and metabolic variations also known as ¿THE BODY¿S MIRROR¿. An understanding of saliva and its role in oral health will help to promote awareness among health care workers of the problems arising when quality and quantity of saliva is decreased; which is important in the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of the condition.
