Über Traces of Brecht's political theatre in Wannous theatre of politicization
Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) and Saadallah Wannous (1941-1997) are two modern dramatists who belong to different cultures, but they are almost alike in tackling socio-political subjects and rendering their theatre a forum for the discussion of social and political issues. Both playwrights¿ dramas are characterized by a display of their fundamental theme: the relationship between the individual and society and its authorities, and they have been coloured by dogmatic and didactic impulses that make Brecht¿s theatre as well as Wannous¿s a tool of social change.
