H. G. Møllers oversættelse af Den ældre Edda har længe været så godt som umulig at opdrive. Nu genudgives det lille tobindsværk i ét samlet bind. Første afdeling består af 13 gudesange og anden del af 22 heltesange. Den mundtlige tradition, som ligger bag disse sange, går for de ældstes vedkommende tilbage til førkristen tid og Eddadigtene regnes blandt de vigtigste kilder til forståelsen af det førkristne Norden.
