Adi-Hinduism was primarily twofold. First, Adi-Hinduism challenged the imposition of specific 'low' social roles, functions and occupations on untouchables based on their ritual status. Adi-Hinduism directly responded to the constraints that untouchables encountered in urban society in achieving economic and social advancement. Its emphasis was less on caste oppression or exploitation, which may have been the chief concern if the movement had emerged in rural areas. It was more on ritual exclusion, directly relevant to the urban untouchables. To challenge the exclusion of untouchables, the Adi Hindu leaders not only argued for caste equality, but they also highlighted a view that the untouchables had been deprived of their original rights through force and political machinations by the higher castes and that their rights should now be restored, for they had been the past rulers of India.

Genetic variability, character association and genetic divergence studies in pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh] was studied in a set of 45 genotypes of pigeonpea grown in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications conducted at Agronomy Instructional Farm, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar during kharif season of 2017-18.The observations were recorded on twelve quantitative characters viz., days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height (cm), number of branches per plant, number of pods per plant, pod length (cm), number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant (g), test weight (g), harvest index (%), leaf area (cm2) and protein content (%).Analysis of variance revealed that significant genotypic differences was observed for all the twelve quantitative characters under study. A wide range of variation was apparent for all the characters. The wide range of variation provides ample scope for selection of superior and desired genotypes by the plant breeder for further crop.
The desire to revitalise indigenous architecture and the built environment through socio-cultural, political and bio-physical relevance has created a strong need for the understanding of cultures and traditional built environments, especially in the developing countries. This book aims to fill the gap in understanding indigenous knowledge in relation to the production and maintenance of traditional architecture and settlements. This can be achieved by examining how such knowledge is depicted and communicated by the traditional master builder in the absence of written language; as well as exploring the forms, quantities and measurements, structural processes, thermal control and waterproofing systems used by the builders, and ecological resource management. The synthetic process so characteristic of the work of the great master builders of yesterday should be the answer to present day architectural problems. The future generation of architects has much to learn from both past and present-day traditional builders. The study also suggests a wide range of possible strategies to mainstream technical know-how of indigenous knowledge systems.
The current qualitative descriptive-analytical study aimed at employing Katharina Reiss¿s functional approach to examine the translations of the stylistic devices in Naguib Mahfouz¿s novels, Khan al-Khalili, Midaq Alley, and Palace Walk, translated by Allen, Davies, and Hutchins and Kenny. To describe the strategies that each translator used, Newmark¿s translation procedures were integrated into Reiss¿s model. Data collection depended on a nonrandom sampling of English and Arabic texts containing such stylistic devices as alliteration, antithesis, metaphors, metonymy, parallelism, personification, and simile. The analysis of the data was conducted by comparing the source texts and target texts to examine the translation method adopted by each translator to achieve functional equivalence based on Reiss¿s approach. The research findings indicated that the translation method affects the translation of stylistic devices and that each translator achieved a balance between the content and the form of the target texts while considering linguistic and extralinguistic factors that impact functional equivalence.
Caregiving is a complex process that requires a lot of emotional and economic investment. In Indian context, caregiving is majorly earmarked for women, resulting in them juggling between multiple responsibilities. Having a disabled child elevates the burden of a caregiver, and it is especially so when it comes to taking care of a child with autism. As autism is often considered as an invisible developmental disability that affects the capability to communicate, interact and reciprocate, caregiving a child with autism demands more effort and time. Studies report that maternal caregivers of children with autism suffer from depression, anxiety, and feelings of hopelessness. The marital satisfaction of these mothers are found to be low as the demands of caregiving a child with autism have ripples effects on their marital quality. This book is on the Marital Satisfaction Scale developed by the authors in measuring the marital satisfaction of those mothers who are the caregivers of their children with autism.

For UV protection, Lutein was successfully delivered topically using gels made of nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) technology. Drugs and their possible excipients were screened for NLC during preformulation studies using methods such organoleptic assessment, melting point analysis, UV-Visible spectra, solubility studies, partition coefficient, and Fourier transform-Infrared (FT-IR) analysis.After the drug was successfully characterized, formulation development was carried out to select and optimize solid and liquid lipid, solid lipid to liquid lipid ratio, surfactant and co-surfactant concentrations, formulation technique, and process factors i.e. stirring speed, stirring time, and homogenization cycles. Following the optimization of process parameters, a formulation table was created and NLC were produced appropriately. In order to develop the optimal NLC formulation, the characterizations of the produced NLC formulations were assessed for shape and surface morphology (TEM), particle size, zeta potential , % entrapment efficiency, and in vitro release testing.The optimized Lutein NLC formulation has a particle size of 81.64 nm, a zeta potential of -14.1 mV.
