Über Ambedkar¿s Idea of Social Democracy
Since centuries, a major part of Indian population has been fighting against the unwanted system i.e., Casteism. There have been also various reforms and movements against caste, untouchability, and Dalit atrocities in pre-post British period. Among all, the new constitution drafted by the Ambedkar can be treated a revolutionary legal document to dismantle all kind of atrocities and discriminations against any section of the Indian society. The responsibility of implementing the document clearly lies with the state and its machineries especially the future people. This book, of five chapters with its number of headings and sub-headings, is an attempt at presenting both theory and practices of the Ambedkar¿s idea of social democracy in India. In theory, based on his volumes of books and articles, it covers his different ideas and thoughts or debates on various socio-economic and political system. And the practices cover every attempt made by him or his successors to implement his idea of social democracy. It covers the different constitutional, legal and administrative arrangements, and amendments of the Indian constitution for achieving the aforesaid goal.
